Promille - Blood Alcohol Tracker app for iPhone and iPad

Promille is a blood alcohol concentration tracker that takes into account the drinks you had when you had them.

Typically, a drink is selected from your favorites list when you’re about to consume it, but you can just as well add drinks that you had earlier and specify when and how many.

Promille shows your actual BAC estimate and tells you when it becomes less than the legal limit. It also shows how long it will take before you’re completely sober.

Unlike similar apps, Promille takes into account your body mass index and the typical alcohol absorption time, producing more realistic results.

You can specify the legal limit which depends on where you reside and often also on your age.

The app lets you add/modify/delete drinks from your favorites list. You can enter any name, specify the volume and the drink’s alcohol content (volume %).
The favorites list comes with a few drinks pre-configured, but you’ll find it very easy to replace them with your own.

We tested PROMILLE using a calibrated alcohol tester and found it to be on the safe side. Note however that estimates calculated by PROMILLE are not measurement and have no legal value.

Even if the app is purely for recreational purposes, its use is quite eye-opening and provides you with a realistic estimate of how quickly you exceed the legal limit and how long the alcohol stays in your body.
